“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pout down for you a blessing until there is no more need. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of Hosts. Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight…”
Of course, this Thursday is Thanksgiving, and I hope we all have things that we can be thankful for. No matter what trials you may have gone through this year, it’s time to take a step back and get some perspective, and realize that God is in control of it all.
You may have had a great year or maybe you found yourself struggling through tough times, just hoping to somehow make it through.
But remember this: no matter what you’ve experienced lately you should always remember to give thanks to God and be grateful for what He’s given you. Give thanks for your prosperity and the abundance that has come your way. Give thanks for your struggle, knowing that if you have faith and give it up to Him, He will bring you out of it, stronger than before.
Sowing and Reaping
During this season of harvest is when our ancestors gave thanks for the bounty that resulted from the seed they had sown in the springtime. They were keenly aware that when you sow your seed into good ground and tend to it faithfully, it will always produce an exponential return.
The concept of sowing and reaping works with literal seeds of course, but it also works with anything else you may have. When you sow your money, time, things, expertise, whatever it may be… if you sow, so shall you reap.
So I sincerely hope you’ll keep in mind during this approaching season to be a giver.
“Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure that you use it will be measured back to you.” -Luke 6:38
Whether you have much or you have little to give, if you do it in the name of our living God, and trust in Him to live up to His promises, your giving will bless others, and it will surely be multiplied back to you… guaranteed!
